IBPS Clerks 2017: Notification out, registration to begin from September 12

IBPS Clerks 2017: Kindly note the exam dates, eligibility, exam pattern, application fees and important dates

Preliminary Examination for IBPS CLERK will be conducted in the month of December.
The notification for IBPS Clerk Exam 2017 has been released by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). It will be held through Common Recruitment Process (CWE Clerk VII). The detailed notification of the same is available on the official website – ibps.in.

There are 7884 vacancies for bank clerks; it is nearly 65 percent less than the previous year. Last year there were about 20,000 vacant posts in 19 Nationalized Bank.

IBPS will begin the online registration process from September 12th  and will last till October 10th. The examination will be conducted in the month of December. It is an online exam which will be held in two stages such as preliminary and main.

The temporary allocation of candidates is expected to release in April 2018. 

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS Clerk Exam

Eligibility: The candidate has to be the citizen of India.

Age limit: Candidate must be not less than 20 years and not above 28 years while filling the exam form i.e he/she should not be born later than September 1, 1997. Age relaxation is provided for the reserved category candidates.

Educational Qualification: A candidate must be a graduate from any recognized university or equivalent. Qualification as recognized by the Central Government. Graduation can be from any discipline.

They should be well versed with the Computer Application.

Candidates should have passed the English language at Senior Secondary or Higher Secondary or Intermediate or Graduation Level.

The candidate should have passed in English as one of the subjects at SSC/ HSC/ Intermediate/ Graduation level. 

Application fees: Application fee for general category is Rs 600 while for reserved category, it is Rs 100.

  • Issue of Pre exam training call letter – November 2017
  • Training schedule for Pre exam training- November 13 to 18, 2017
  • Issue of Preliminary exam call letter – November 2017
  • Dates to conduct Preliminary exam – December 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2017
  • Result of Preliminary exam – December
  • Call letters for the Main exam– January 2018
  • Exam date for Online exam main – January 21, 2018
  • Issue of Provisional allotment – April 2018

IBPS Clerk Preliminary Exam pattern:

IBPS Clerk Preliminary exam will be computer-based and will have 100 questions to be answered in one hour. The exam will have three sections with a specified break-up of marks and questions as follows:
  • Numerical ability – 35 questions and 35 marks
  • English language – 30 questions and 30 marks
  • Reasoning ability – 35 questions and 35 marks
List of participating banks are: Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, UCO Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India and Vijaya Bank.
